Product Reviews: Walgreens Wonders, A, A, A!

Hi everyone! I hope each of you had a wonderful New Year's celebration!

Up for today are three Walgreen wonder products. Why are they wonders, you wonder? Well, each product is fantastic, less than $10 and can be easy found at (most) Walgreens.

Some of my favorite drugstore products are the generic brands, themselves. Why? Because they are relatively the same great products and work just as well as the brand name schtuff for half the price! All three of these little gems get an "A" in my book for quality, quantity and accessibility. And here we go!

1) Dickson's Witch Hazel: $4.49: Damn good facial toner. Non-stinging, refreshing and cheap! This baby is always a re-buy for me. Keeps my skin nice and clean without drying it out. Oh, and it's 16 oz. for that price. Holy guacamole.

2) Walgreens Cocoa Butter Lotion: $3.99: I apply body lotion pretty liberally every day, as my skin can get a bit dry. Because I use so much, I typically shy away from super pricey body lotions. Meet the mother of affordable, nice smelling, rich moisture. This jug of lotion is more than 24 ounces and has lasted me at least six months. Word to the wise, if you do not like the smell of cocoa butter, you will not like this....Captain Obvious, here!

3) Walgreens Regenerating Night Cream: $7.99 (on sale): This is a great (and affordable) substitute for Oil of Olay Regenerist Night Cream. I  have routinely caught this bad boy on super sale too. A very good night cream that keeps micro lines at bay!

Any drugstore wonders you care to share?

Triple Feature: Happy New Year, Thank You & WTF Friday!

Hey everyone!

Just a quick post to cover three topics...

1) Happy New Year! I hope 2010 brings each of you health, joy and great shopping experiences!

2) Thank you for reading my leetle blog. Every comment, e-mail and follower I get is like a little ray of sunshine in my day!

3) You know I can't resist a brief WTF moment to start up 2010...

Vanessa Hudgens...girlfriend?! WTF?! Where are your pantalones? I really like sweater dresses, but lady, you are not wearing one. You look like a manic...almost like little Orphan Annie loses her pants. Or...maybe it's Ms. Crazy conducting the nutjob orchestra with a roll of wrapping paper?! Yowza.

Have a great weekend!

Thursday Unveiling...Cubicle to Cocktails!

One of my fab readers, Kristen, asked me to showcase a few "work to cocktails" ensembles. I am a big believer in multi-use pieces, so I happy obliged! I'm hoping to make this a recurring post every Thursday in anticipation of your post-work Thursday and Friday happy hours! Let me know what you think about the set and if you like this new offering!

I LOVE the color of the shoes in this set. At $100, they are a bit steep for ruffle-y pumps, but I really believe that this color would work with SO many options! This deep magenta looks great with navy, black, gray and even chocolate. So, the work ensembles will completely vary depending on your place of employment. I love a dress for cubicle to cocktails, though. It's super easy to throw on and vary with accessories. This dress is precious, and for only $35 it's a complete steal - so versatile! For the cocktails look, I wanted to incorporate a bit more color, thus adding the bright yellow croc belt, blue pin corsage and I roughed up the look a bit with some bad ass bracelets.

Looking forward to your feedback and future suggestions!

How Sweet! Beautiful Blogger Award!

Jen from The Look 4 Less nominated me for this very sweet award (thanks, Jen - GORG wedding photo btw) and I'm supposed to tell you all seven rando things about me...so here we go!

1. In my opinion, the best way to consume a Wendy's Frosty is by dipping french fries in it. My brother likes this too...it's so delicious.

2. My hubs and I adopted our nutjob beagle (Riley) in January of 2007. The rescue failed to mention that he hates other dogs and some people. Information that may have been useful...we love him anyway.

3. Just a few days ago, Todd (hubs) surprised me with the most incredible graduation gift - a gorrrgeous pair of Louboutins. Real life photos to come as soon as I get them back in my size.

4. I hate mushrooms. My "death pizza" is sausage and mushroom. Nast.

5. I am originally from the 'burbs of Chicago and have only lived in Charlotte for a mere 2.5 years. I'm still getting used to the southern "culture".

6. I love Big Ten Football...probably because I went to University of Wisconsin...GO BADGERS!

7. I love the movie "French Kiss". If you haven't seen it...go rent it...IMMEDIATELY. Meg Ryan is adorable and Kevin Kline is superb.

And to conclude this award I must name seven other bloggers to participate, if they so choose to:

Thanks for the award, Jen!
