Golden Globes Dress Review!

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. I'm currently in a work conference most of the week, but I did get a chance to peruse through the Golden Globe gown photos last night...

While you can make groups of gowns to go on forever, here are a few trending gown types I saw...some in multiple categories, of course!
  1. Sequin explosion: Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway, Nicole Kidman, Olivia Wilde, Sandra Bullock, Melissa Leo, Carrie Underwood
  2. One shoulder sweeping gowns: Amy Adams, Lea Michelle, Julianne Moore, Mila Kunis
  3. Minimalist: Emma Stone, Claire Danes
  4. Backless/bare back: Eva Longoria, Emma Stone,  Anne Hathaway
  5. Popular shades: Pale pink, Green, Blue, Red, White, Black
And here are some of my favorite gowns overall:

Angelina Jolie: This emerald green Atelier Versace is stunning, IMO. So nice to see her in something other than black or a muted neutral. I'm really adoring this shade with her coloring, too.

Sandra Bullock: While I'm not diggin' the super heavy bangs on Sandra's gorgeous face, I love this Jenny Packham gown. It's a classic drape but also has tons of visual interest.

Jennifer Lawrence: I'm not incredibly familiar with her work (she was nominated for Winter's Bone) but girlfriend turned.it.out. in this Louis Vuitton dress. Ruffles can be super overpowering but the corseted fit and slit in this dress make it fresh.

Mandy Moore: You don't see Mandy Moore frolicking along the red carpet too often, so it's lovely to see her in this Monique Lhuillier stunner. I love the frothy tulle and the fit of this dress.

Anne Hathaway: This Armani Prive is just gorgeous on Anne Hathaway. Kudos to Rachel Zoe for styling - keeping Anne fresh faced and fuss free in this heavy gown.

With so many gorgeous dresses, who do you think looked the best?

Celebrity Style Stalker: MTV Movie Awards

Hi all! It's time for some style stalkin'!

These lovely ladies were dressed to the nines for the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday and I wanted to offer up a few inspired dresses!

First up is the adorable and talented, Anna Kendrick...

I love the diaphanous chiffon and the sweet cut on this dress. The pattern is also a bit nutty, but because it's short and sweet, I can certainly handle it. And do you see her shoes - fierce!

While this dress is not as formal, the chiffon looks lovely and it's certainly a fun print!

Or, if you're a long dress kinda gal...here's a lovely, albeit bright, chiffon number...

Next up is the gorgeous Scarlet Johannson in a stunning green lace sheath. I love her whole look here...the emerald green is stunning, the fit is impeccable and her hair and makeup are spot on.

And, well, it's no surprise that it's mighty difficult to find a green lace sheath anywhere besides the top tier designers, here is an adorable green eyelet sheath by Shoshanna!

And a white lace sheath, just for fun. How adorable would this little number be for a casual wedding dress?! And it's on saaaale!

Let's not can't forget to include the radiant new momma, Sandra Bullock!

While Sandra's stunning black dress was backless, the one below is fully covered in the back.

Last but not least, Ms. Cameron Diaz and her 89 mile legs...

The dress she's wearing is DVF and while I love me some DVF, I searched for a few more affordable options...

Oscar Style Roundup - A Few of My Favorites

Hi all! I thought I'd delay Monday's Product Review and instead focus on last night's Oscar Fashions!

Here are a few of my faves!

Cameron Diaz in Oscar de La Renta. Um hello gorgeous. Cam looks like she un-aged (that's not even a word?!) about 10 years. I don't remember the last time her hair was worn down. LOVE IT. Good work Rachel Zoe.

And then there is Demi Mooe in Atelier Versace. The pleating, gathering and ruffles on this dress are just beautiful. Seriously, Demi looks 25. Again, great styling, Rachel Zoe.

Elizabeth Banks in Atelier Versace. YAY for color! This blue is stunning on her. The neutrals and flesh tones are lovely, but thank God for a bit or gorgeous color. And the details are amazing.

Diane Kruger in Chanel Haute Couture. I love the detailing on this dress. It's a bit unconventional - but that's how Diane shuts it down. With her long and lean figure, this halter is just lovely on her. And who doesn't love some Chanel?!

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa. Ok, this dress doesn't look quite as amazing in the photo as it did on screen, but she looked fantastic (and I loved her speech). Her makeup, shiny locks and detailing on the dress were incredible. Don't you just want to be Sandra's friend?!

Those are just a few of my favorite dresses - which looks did you love?!

Critics' Choice Awards - Celebrity Style Eyegasm

Just a quick post to start off your weekend! Here are just a few STUNNING dresses that the stars showcased last night at the Critics' Choice Awards....

Emily Blunt in Georges Chakra Couture: Now this is how you sport a silver dress-the sheer neckline, the scalloping....GORGEOUS! The styling is so lovely, too. This is my fave...

Julianne Moore in Lanvin: You don't see too many redheads workin' a red dress, but this looks stunning on her.

Zoe Saldana in Jason Wu: Yes, Jason Wu, the designer who created Michelle Obama's dress for The Inaugural Ball. This color is perfection on Zoe, it's so....effervescent! She could use a sandwich or two, though!

Sandra Bullock in Alberta Ferretti: I love the fringe. AND, how stunning does her hair look? I know, rando, but she looks so lovely. She's obviously a really big Ferretti fan, I swear that's the only designer she has worn on the red carpet for the past year or two.

Which dress do you like best? Will you be watching the Golden Globes on Sunday?
