Currently Craving: Target Time

Ah Target. When I enter your doors I cannot escape without spending at least $100. Yes. This is even when the only three things on my list are chapstick, laundry detergent and a greeting card.

Alas, spring& summer gear has started to roll out onto the Target floor (and website) and I spy piles of affordable, cute things to crave. Major note of contention - petites! Yes, Target has offered petites for months now, but it's nice to see a few very cute dresses with that sizing. (great for my not-so-long legs). Hooray!

Behold...some of my fave Tar-jay for spring...

What are you currently craving? And do you fall victim to the Target $100 check out?

Spring 2011: Trend Time #4: Never Ending Neutrals

Still on spring time trends, friends! Charlotte has had the most amazing run of stunning weather...to the tune of 60-70 degrees, so spring is most definitely on my mind!

Trend #4 for Spring 2011 is even more neturals! We've seen tons of white dresses during awards season and be prepared to see even more neutral shoes, skirts, tops, etc. in your favorite stores within a few short weeks. And it's not as if neutrals have been "out" but just prepare yourself for every shade of white, camel, beige, brown and more!

Some of my fave neutrals!

What's your take on neutrals? Sweet or snooze?

Spring Time 2011: Trend Time #3 - Full Skirts & Long Skirts

I suppose I could just title this spring trend skirts...but, well, that seems boring. Skirts are skirts are skirts. But, for spring this year we're seeing a couple new options - longer, fuller skirts that graze the knees and extra long, maxi, straight skirts.

Any way you wear it - don't skirt the issue!

Thoughts, ladies?

Spring 2011: Trend Time #2 - Orange

Gone are the days of Reese Witherspoon's Elle Woods quote, "Who ever told her orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed." Yes, ladies, orange is uber trendy for spring!

Personally, I like pops of orange, but I've never been brave enough to sport a full on dress a la orange. But, hey, for the super fans or those even remotely interested in orange, here's a myriad of ways you can sport this juicy color.

Orange you glad spring is on its way?!

Spring 2011: Trend Time #1 - Wide Leg Trousers

It's (almost) spring. Well not really, but we can dream. Spring trends are already filling up every imaginable retail outlet and it's still frickin' freezing. But, I like to plan ahead! So, each Thursday for the next five weeks I'm going to highlight one wearable spring trend.

Today spring trend highlight is wide leg trousers. Yeah, yeah, for many wide leg trousers have never gone out of style. But pair them with a slightly fitted top, tucked in dolman blouse or strong shoulder top and chic is what you get.

Many a mag are showing these pantalones super long, practically covering the shoes. Just be sure to balance your overall volume with a cinching belt or jacket - no one looks hot in a trash bag.

Here are a couple pieces I'm a fan of...

Cheap Thrills - Spring Edition

Hi everyone!

Today's edition of Cheap Thrills is all about spring. I love spring fashion - it's a huge awakening from the wool-covered, fleece-lined winter! And in Charlotte it has snowed about, um, 10 times this winter. For you non-Southerners - that's A LOT down here! I'm originally from Chicago, so I don't have a problem with winter, but I cannot wait for spring!

My cheap thrills - spring themed....
  • Easter candy - especially Cadbury eggs and huge Chocolate bunnies
  • The smell of fresh cut grass - it reminds me of soccer season (I played pretty much my entire life)
  • Baby animals - 'tis the season for baby squirrels
  • Magnolia blossoms - since moving to the South I have fallen in love with the site and smell of Magnolia blossoms! Lemony sugary goodness!
And here are a few spring inspired cheap thrills in the Polyvore set below!

Psyched for Sping: Old Navy Picks

Hi everyone!

So, yes, I know it's only the beginning of January, but I'm already thinking spring! I quickly skimmed through Old Navy's first showing of spring offerings. I'm happy to say that they have tons of cute spring classics -  neutral colored trench coats, pops of color in lightweight sweaters, airy scarves and slouchy, comfortable chinos and boyfriend jeans.

Here are just a few spring picks that I spied at Old Navy...

What are you crushing on for spring?!
