Product Review: Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser, B+

Nothin' like a deliciously scented, new face wash to brighten up your Tuesday, hmmm?

Yes, as of late I've been sticking my face into Neutrogena's new Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser. You can find this (almost) all natural product at a variety of drugstores, Ulta, and probably every big box retailer out there. Expect to pay $6-$7.50 for 6 ounces.

About Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Cleanser:
This face wash contains natural salicylic acid found in Willowbark bionutrients to penetrate deep into pores to detoxify and help remove dirt, oil and makeup, while rinsing clean without pore-clogging residue.

My Review:

The Good: This product smells divine. It's like a fruit basket exploded on your face in a foamy, rich lather. And, said fruity lather really removes makeup and leaves my face soft and uber clean. And even though this is a minor point, I'm a fan of the pump dispenser.

The Bad: Sometimes my face can feel a little bit tight and a teeny bit dry.

The Verdict: B+ from me. I dig the natural products and this one doesn't disappoint. For a simple cleanser that does the job well and naturally, Neutrogena put forth a nice product.

Product Review: DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, B+

So, we're back to putting oil on our faces. You can read my ode to face oil from a month or so back. In the spirit of EVOO, a friend and I were chatting about DHC and their ah-mazing line of skincare products, one of them being their Deep Cleansing Oil. I did a bit of poking around online and ordered a few products and I'm happy to say that I'm pretty much in love with this item.

About DHC's Deep Cleansing Oil:
Try this amazing cleanser and you’ll see why it’s our most popular product worldwide. Dirt, excess oil, makeup—even waterproof mascara—and other pore-cloggers dissolve easily, leaving your face a grime-free zone that is soft to the touch. Its unique water-soluble formula rinses completely, so you’ll never see a greasy residue. Olive oil and vitamin E help ensure you won’t see dryness either.

My Review:

The Good: While it seems counter intuitive to throw oil over a make up face, this cleansing oil removes 90% of my makeup (some eye makeup requires just a bit of remover) and leaves my skin super soft and moisturized. The pump disbursement is nice and hey, if you dig the scent of olive oil, you'll lurve it.

The Bad: Well, 6.7 oz. for $23 is no bargain. But hey - you really only need to use one pump to properly cleanse your mug.

The Verdict: B+ from me. It does the job and does it well. Just like a cheesy cheer - I like it, I love it, I want some more of it.

If you have any interest in ordering some goods from DHC, shoot me an email and I can set you up with an individual discount code and send you free samples courtesy of my account.

Product Review: Philosophy "Purity" Facewash, A

Happy Tuesday! We are all one more day closer to Friday. Hooray.

Up today is a fabulous facewash that I have been using for a few years, Philosophy's Purity. I cannot praise this facewash enough. It strips off makeup (including eye makeup) but still leaves your skin super clean and soft. It also has a nice, clean scent that I adore.

To buy this fabulous facewash, I would typically recommend visiting Nordstroms or Sephora. However, finding the need to re-order, I decided that I need the largest bottle of Purity that I could find, the 32 oz. big mama jug o' facewash. Instead of flocking back to Ebay where I bought my first jug of Purity two years ago, I visited Philosophy's website. And there she was, $42.50 for 32 oz. of facewash love.

If you're ordering anything from Philosophy online, make sure to do a quick check for coupon codes - there are plenty out there. Oh, and by the way, the 24 oz. bottle is $40...um, yeah, go ahead and spring for the extra 8 oz. for $2.50.

So, I love this facewash. It works well for all skin types, smells great, leaves my skin super soft and the jumbo bottle lasted for two years. That's a damn good buy if I ever found one and a perfect every day face wash. This product earns a solid A from me!

Have you ever tried any of Philosophy's products?
