A Mission: Find My Buddy Some Chocolate Brown Pumps

So, as many of you and many of my friends know how much I love to shop and scoure shopping sites for specialty items. My lovely friend Julia is looking for a very specific pair of chocolate brown pumps to add to her fall wardrobe. And she sent me a request to find these elusive shoes with the following restraints....
  • Brown pump suitable for work (she's a lawyer and in the court room often)
  • Heel height: 2-2.5" (comfortable enough to walk around in)
  • Some type of texture or embellishment on the shoe (she doesn't like the look of flat brown leather pumps)
  • Not insanely expensive (ok, I added this one in for good measure)
And here's what I came up with! Some of these host a bit taller of a heel, while some vary in color. I wanted to give Julia some options to wear with navy, brown, tan, etc.

So friends, how did I do? I like missions....

Product Review: L'Oreal HiP Eyeshadow Duo - Electrified, A

Hey all! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Up for review today is one of L'Oreal's HiP Eyeshadow Duos, the shade is called "Electrified."

Here's a crappy picture from Target's website:

This duo retails for $5.99-$6.99 in your typical big box retails and drugstores, but I will say that this particular shade seems to be more difficult to come by.

Deets from L'Oreal:
  • Shades are high-pearl, luminous, rich colors that can be used to create an elegant and edgy metallic eye look
  • Each shade combination is developed to create a striking, complete eye look
  • The lighter shade can be used for all-over luminous color and the darker shade can be used to contour and define the eye for maximum impact
  • Crease-resistant, long-wearing color duo includes a shadow applicator
And my review:

The Good: The colors are looooovely...seriously, the mink colored shade is just so pretty and I imagine it would be pretty on almost any eye color. And it's super easy to vamp it up at night with the eggplant shade next to it. The best part is that these shadows really stay true to your lids and their color all day, as long as you use an eye shadow primer.

The Bad: I got nothin' here!

The Verdict: LOVE. A definite rebuy for me, especially considering the affordability and long wear.

WTF: Not My Idol

Happy Friday, all! Up for WTF Friday today is Ms. Jennifer Lopez...that's right: J Lo, Jenny from the Block, Fly Girl, Ms. Anthony.

I personally think Jennifer is super gorgeous yet sometimes she turns it out in some awkward fitting ensembles. Like this one.

Her hair looks fabulous. Her saggy gray jumpsuit with the mile long crotch...not so fabuloso. J Lo make it work and try to avoid clothes that make you look like an unfortunate inmate rather than an idol. Plus, where are her feet?! Ack.

Happy weekend to all!

Product Review: MAC Mineralize Satinfinish Foundation, B

Hi everyone! Happy Monday to all.

Up for review today is MAC's Mineralize Satinfinish SPF 15 Foundation. I picked this up while perusing through a Cosmetics Company Store (outlet mall store where expensive brand name cosmetics are sold) as I was in need for a lightweight foundation. As many of you may remember I adore Laura Mercier's oil free foundation, yet I decided to give a go to this particular blend from MAC.

Deets from MAC's website:
A fluid foundation that blends the natural light-reflecting properties of micro-minerals with a smooth satin finish. Provides a low-to-medium buildable coverage with a slightly luminous look. Contains antioxidants vitamins C and E. Provides everyday SPF 15 sun protection. Long-wearing. Suitable for normal-dry skins. 1 oz., $29.50.

And my review...

The Good: With a very wide range of colors, MAC's foundation line covers just about every skin tone. The particular foundation goes on super smooth.

The Bad: It doesn't stay all day and can sometimes look a little flat if you don't dress it up with some other color on your face.

The Verdict: B from me! The finish is nice and light, but I keep thinking about my LM foundation. I'll definitly continue to use it, but I think I'll go back to LM during my next go around!

Cubicle to Cocktails: Tucker for Target, Signature Blouse in Mosaic

Hello friends! As I'm trying to be patient, waiting for a few more items to arrive from the Tucker for Target collection, I thought I would show y'all my love for the Tucker for Target Signature Blouse in Mosaic.

I adore this print and the colors - I think they pair beautifully with navy, black, pink, white, etc. Also, since it's not a large print, this top will work with many different physiques and in a variety of settings. Thus, a great top for Cubicle to Cocktails!

Below you'll see the top paired with a gorgeous navy tweed skirt from Ann Taylor and some inexpensive, but luxe looking, accessories. It's an easy transition to move the blouse into cocktail hour with some distressed denim and delicate, oversized hoops.

So, friends, do you dig the Target for Tucker CTC?

And for your shopping pleasure...

In Case You're In Need of Some Monday Funday...

"Breaking News"...

Snooki gets rid of her hair pouf...because she wants to "look more mature."

Photo via: Tammie Arroyo/AFF-USA
The fact that this is breaking news on People.com makes me oh so sad. But hey...if she can work that angle, so be it.

Maybe Snooks should ease off of the tanning, spray and otherwise, and lighten up on the makeup...then that would be truly newsworthy! *Makeunder!*

Happy Monday - my in person review of Target's Tucker line coming up in the next few days!

WTF Friday: Cut Ups

Ahhh Friday....happy Friday to all! Today's WTF edition features two gorgeous ladies who are making me cut up as they look completely cut up...literally.

First up, no stranger to WTF Friday...Leighton Meester...

Photo via: Gary Gershoff/WireImage
Oh Leighton...for such a lovely girl you dress so strangely! WTF is with this fugly blue satin craft project? Did we rip up a heinous bridesmaid dress and piece it together all Fifth Element Style? You guys know what I'm talking about...

Just say no.

Next up is the gorgeous Julianne Moore...I ADORE her...and her amazing hair. But what I do not adore is this...

Photo via: Gary Gershoff/WireImage

A) This dress is utterly shapeless and the print is slightly irritating. But B) What's with the midnight booties?! Julianne you have an amazing figure, why the hell would you chop off your legs with these chunky, black monstrosities?

That's it for today's edition! I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the Fashion's Night Out festivities wherever you are!

Celebrity Style Stalker: Anna Paquin

Oh Celebrity Style Stalker...I've missed this feature, haven't you?

Anna Paquin looked just smashing in this lovely fire red Preen dress at the pre-Emmy party for Entertainment Weekly.

How about a look for less? Below there are a few super affordable dress options, platform pumps and super cheap bangles to complete the look. Do we love this look on AP?

WTF Friday: Pants Free & Chin Rests

Happy Friday to all! It's been a super, SUPER busy week for me but I just couldn't help myself from posting the follow WTFs. First up...a repeat offender...Ms. Mischa Barton...

Photo via: INF

Um...pants....are....good. Even in the summer. Even if you think your kitschy cool. Mischa, darling, please burn that fugtastic vest and put on some pants. We've seen you look gorgeous, get back to it. Thanks, bai.

And then one of the most gawwwwgeous women in Hollywood (in my opinion), Salma Hayek. While I understand many classy and lovely women feel the need to flaunt their curves, this is just a bit insane...and inane.
Photo via: BEL/Fame
Her sisters are positively screaming for air. Do not encase your sisters in zipped leather...even if you are Salma Hayek...even if you are seeking a chin rest. There are better ways, ladies.

That's it for today - have an amazing Labor Day weekend, all!
